Rhonda9 ::: Favorites 2008-01-11 04:22:26 I went to college in Canada back in the 70's. As an American, I am so very thankful for that experience. I had the opportunity to learn about different cultures in Canada and interact with various people, whom I otherwise would not have had the opportunity to do so. Your points are valid. __________________________________________________
MrRay47 ::: Favorites 2007-12-01 11:36:27 But, I'd ask you what I've asked so many others, don't judge us by some of the things our government does ... we're just as mad about them as you are. Aloha, Ray __________________________________________________
MrRay47 ::: Favorites 2007-11-30 23:08:38 As for Europeans, I'm in the wrong part of the world to hear much about their experiences but an acquaintance said years ago that there was a lot of visa fraud from the former USSR states so I would guess they're having a hard a hard time. I'm a US citizen and recently retired after 32+ years of federal service and I don't know how anyone could be any madder at our Immigration officials than I am. __________________________________________________
MrRay47 ::: Favorites 2007-11-30 23:08:15 My current wife was treated so poorly in Manila that it required official correspondence from the government agency where I worked to the consulate in Manila just to get them to stop threatening her with a stint in a Philippine jail. On the other hand I've never heard of any Japanese national except for some criminals who can't get into the US as a tourist. __________________________________________________
MrRay47 ::: Favorites 2007-11-30 23:07:47 She owned her own home, a small but profitable business, had plenty of money in the bank and a daughter attending college in Bangkok. The consulate official who was also a drinking buddy of mine said that the only way she'd get into the US is if I'd marry her. __________________________________________________
MrRay47 ::: Favorites 2007-11-30 23:07:14 I was born in the US. My first wife was born in China, my current wife was born in the Philippines, and so I've had some experience dealing with US Immigration. Prior to 9/11/2001 most of the discrimination in entering the US was economic not racial. Think there's discrimination against Asians? For Filipinos, Thais and Chinese there sure is. I had a friend in Thailand who wanted to visit the US as a tourist. __________________________________________________
Brianswers ::: Favorites 2007-11-30 18:45:39 Hehe.. no I didn't but I thought about it :) __________________________________________________
xy11xy ::: Favorites 2007-11-30 14:16:22 Well, I hope you didn't say that to him/her. LOL __________________________________________________
Brianswers ::: Favorites 2007-10-22 17:59:32 Thanks for the comment. You need to listen more carefully to what I actually said. I said some people complain about Americans lack of knowledge but if someone asked me to name something about Mexico, say, I couldn't do it either. I wasn't complaining about that, I was supporting your opinion. __________________________________________________
johnbourbon ::: Favorites 2007-10-21 22:50:09 come to NYC, the historic and current immigration capital of the universe and you'll learn something about non-white immigrants. and enough about your PM. whether i know of harper shouldn't concern you in the slightest. i certainly couldn't care less if you could name ONE us state, let alone all of them, and i extra-certainly wouldn't waste my time complaining to my mopey friends about it. __________________________________________________
Brianswers ::: Favorites 2007-10-20 08:25:02 Sure, maybe they had a problem 100 years ago, but nowadays? I doubt it.. __________________________________________________
Sacramentosaint ::: Favorites 2007-10-19 00:37:05 Are you sure about that? Have you ever heard of the term W.O.P. With out papers, referring to the Italians who were here illegally. __________________________________________________
rowsdowersavesus ::: Favorites 2007-10-16 13:43:56 It's funny, a bud of mine brought up the case of an illegal immigrant to the U.S.A. involved in a terrorist plot. The catch:he was a Russian white supremacist. I bet you anything that if he was Mexican, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Anne Coulter would be all over that. __________________________________________________
Brianswers ::: Favorites 2007-10-15 07:40:59 Yeah their obsession with keeping non whites out is disturbing.. Noone ever hears about European illegal immigrants. __________________________________________________ |
