giantposer 2008-03-23 20:06:44 Thank-you. The beauty of the oral tradition was well discussed. My criticisms are the way the scholar referred to the rich lineage of western scholarship of the bible to prove his points, but only referred to Muslim (Sunni) tradition to support(not prove) his points. Not very scholarly and raises fears of self-confirming bias. Also, the term "orientalists" is highly charged and insinuates all critics of the Koran are bigoted and untrustworthy.
